【17】Ari-toshi Jinja shrine

It is a shrine sitting along the Ohechi Route and has a history of more than 1,000 years. The origin of "Ari-toshi" is related to the story of a young man who was ordered to pass a thread through a conch shell, and succeeded by tying an ant to the thread, and have it go through the conch shell with drops of nectar. During the Edo period, there is a legend that when a fire occurred due to the great Ansei large earthquake (1854), the tall Camphor tree poured out water and stopped the fire.
